Tan Zhemin meets with Simone Dilena, President of ACPC at Times Higher Education

On April 25th, Tan Zhemin, President of Nanjing University and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, met with Simone Dilena, President of ACPC at Times Higher Education , and her delegation at Xianlin Campus. Both sides engaged in discussions on further deepening cooperation.



President Tan welcomed the arrival of President Dilena and her delegation, expressing gratitude for Times Higher Education's longstanding high appraisal of NJUs's educational development. He introduced the latest development of the university. The university has made significant achievements in talent cultivation, scientific research, cultural inheritance, and social services, contributing groundbreaking and landmark results to the development of higher education in China. With Times Higher Education, President Tan expressed hopes for further cooperation to better showcase NJU's achievements globally, enhance the university's international reputation and influence, and jointly explore new prospects for the development of world higher education.


Dilena acknowledged NJU's leading position in the world and its expanding international influence. In the 2024 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, NJU achieved a commendable 73rd position. With international competition in higher education intensifying, Times Higher Education hopes that this meeting can serve as an opportunity to become a bridge and accelerator for NJU in opening up the international education market. 


During the meeting, Ms. Li Hui, Director of Times Higher Education Greater China Region, introduced the evaluation criteria, international platforms, and promotional cases of Times Higher Education.


Ding Aijun, Assistant President, also attended the meeting.
