LU Yanqing Ph.D., professor, currently servers as Vice President of Nanjing University, Professor of Department of Optical Engineering and Quantum Electronics, College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Nanjing University. He is also a Distinguished Professor of Changjiang Scholars Program, a winner of the National Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars, and the principal investigator at the Nanjing National Laboratory of Microstructures (under construction).

His main research interests are the interaction between light and matter in different systems, such as nonlinear crystals, liquid crystals, optical fibers and superstructure materials, and the development of their applications in photoelectric information processing and other fields. 

He is also member of the Central Committee of the Jiusan Society, member of the Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
