China Society for African Studies won first prize for Outstanding Academic Societies of Social Science (2023) supported by the National Social Science Fund of China (NSSFC). The National Social Science Fund of China has been selecting outstanding academic societies and awarding them grants to support their society building and academic activities. 

The award comprehensively examines a society's excellence in such dimensions as internal governance, academic success, and social influence. Recipients will be financially supported by NSSFC to promote academic exchanges, and bolster their capacity and innovation.
