On December 8, the 7th Hong Yinxing Economics Prize (Youth) Award Ceremony and Academic Seminar was held at the Hongyi Lecture Hall of Nanjing University Business School. Ten young scholars from Zhejiang University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Central University of Finance and Economics, University of International Business and Economics, Beijing University of Technology, Rural Economic Research Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and Journal of Management World as well as other universities and research institutes were honored.
Professor Fan Conglai of Nanjing University chaired the opening ceremony of the Academic Seminar. He introduced the development history of the Hong Yinxing Economics Prize and details of this year's evaluation. Since its establishment, Hong Yinxing Economics Prize has been receiving attention and support from all sectors of society. Recently, Mr. Lu Qidong, a NJU alumnus and the Chairman of Nanjing Northern Lights Bio-technology Co., Ltd. made a donation to the Prize Fund, and the donation ceremony was held before the award ceremony. Professor An Tongliang, Dean of Business School, presided over the donation ceremony. Mr. Lu Qidong signed the donation agreement with Feng Fan, Secretary General of Nanjing University Education Development Foundation.
After the donation ceremony, NJU Professor Zheng Jianghuai announced the winners of this year's Hong Yinxing Economics Award (Youth). Professor Hong Yinxing presented the certificate to the winners. During the academic seminar, ten winners gave presentations on their winning papers and shared their research experiences. The seminar was chaired by Professor Jiang Fuxin of Nanjing Normal University and Professor Shen Kunrong of Nanjing University.
Professor Hong Yinxing made a general comment on the winning papers. He pointed out that economics research should focus on the real problems of China's economic and social development, and emphasised that economics research should integrate scientific economics theories with advanced research methods. He hoped that more excellent young economists and outstanding academic achievements responding to the needs of national development will emerge in the near future.
