On July 22, 2023, the launch ceremony for the Suzhou Hospital, Affiliate Hospital of the Medical School of Nanjing University, was held at Suzhou. This event marked a significant milestone as the Suzhou Science and Technology Town Hospital officially became an affiliate hospital of NJU Medical School and joined Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital Group. The Suzhou Science and Technology Town Hospital was formally renamed as the Suzhou Hospital, Affiliate Hospital of the Medical School of Nanjing University, and the Suzhou Hospital, Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital Group. This collaboration is expected to enhance medical services, research, and education of the hospital.
Leaders and representatives from NJU, Suzhou Municipal Government and Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital attended the event. Ji Jing, Deputy Mayor of Suzhou, presided over the ceremony.
Cao Lubao, Member of the Standing Committee of Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of Suzhou Municipal Party Committee, Tan Tieniu, Academician of the CAS and Secretary of the CPC NJU Committee, Tan Zhemin, Academician of the CAS and President of NJU, Wu Qingwen, Deputy Secretary of Suzhou Municipal Committee and Mayor of Suzhou, and Yu Chenggong, President of Drum Tower Hospital, Affiliate Hospital of the Medical School of Nanjing University, together unveiled the plaques for the hospital.

Zhang Junfeng, Standing Member of the CPC NJU Committee and Vice President of NJU, presented the Letter of Appointment to Li Jingwei, appointing him as the President of the Suzhou Hospital.
The Suzhou Science and Technology Town Hospital has a strong foundation in medical treatment, training, research, and the practical application of research findings. In June 2022, NJU and Suzhou municipal government signed the Framework Agreement on Co-building the Suzhou Science and Technology Town Hospital. Since then, NJU and Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital have actively supported the development of the Hospital, providing guidance in areas such as medical services, research, training, and talent development.
