On December 19, John A. Rogers, Director at Querrey Simpson Institute for Bioelectronics at Northwestern University, member of the National Academy of Engineering and the National Academy of Sciences of the United States visited Nanjing University. Tan Zhemin, President of NJU and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) met Rogers to discuss advancing cooperation with Northwest University in related areas.
Professor Rogers gave a public lecture titled “Flexible Electronics for the Human Body” at the Xianlin Forum. Zheng Hairong, Vice-president of NJU and Academician of CAS attended and addressed at the forum. Zheng warmly welcomed Rogers and introduced NJU's history, emphasized its commitment to focusing on the development of scientific and technological frontiers and interdisciplinary fields. Zheng presented a plaque to Rogers, thanking him for being the guest speaker at the 20th Xianlin Forum.
More than two hundred teachers and students participated in the lecture. During the interaction session, audiences discussed in depth with Rogers on practical issues in academic research. Xianlin Forum has achieved solid results in the three years since it was held, inviting a total of 20 world-renowned scholars to participate in the Forum.
