On December 16, Fang Jiangshan, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of People's Daily leads a delegation to Nanjing University. Tan Tieniu, Chair of the university CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences meets the delegation on Xianlin Campus. Zhao Jinsong, Deputy Head of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee's Publicity Department, Xu Yijun, Vice-Chairman of Jiangsu Federation of Philosophy and Social Science Circles, and Chen Yunsong, Vice Chair of the university CPC Council accompanied the meeting.
Tan extended warm welcome to Fang and his delegation. He expessed his gratitude to People's Daily for its support to Nanjing University. He recalled General Secretary Xi Jinping's reply to NJU's young overseas returned scholars, and hoped that the two sides could deepen cooperation and work together to tell the stories of China.
Fang Jiangshan pointed out that Nanjing University has made important contributions to the inheritance and promotion of the excellent traditional Chinese culture. He hoped that the two sides would strengthen cooperation in theoretical research and publicity work in order to better serve their common pursuits.
In the following colloquium session, Chen Yunsong introduced the basic situation of NJU's academic research, liberal arts development, and think tank construction. Peng Guohua, Editor-in-Chief of People's Tribune, and He Minjie, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of People's Tribune introduced the general situation of the Theory Division of People's Daily and People's Tribune, as well as relevant situation of GOVERNANCE. Representatives from both sides had thorough discussion during the colloquium.
