On December 4, Tan Tieniu, Chair of the university CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences met with student representatives from NJU Students' Union and listened to their suggetsions regarding the development of the university.
Tan recalled his early experience of working at student organizations. He highlighted the vital role that student leaders play in both the academic and cultural development of Nanjing University, as well as their responsibility to contribute to the national and global progress. He encouraged the students to embrace the challenges and opportunities ahead.
At the meeting, the students shared their study and live experience at NJU and their plans for next stage. Student representatives from the Hong Kong SAR, the Macao SAR and Taiwan region also attended the meeting. International student representatives expressed their hope to share their experiences in China and at Nanjing University with the world, helping more international students learn about and fall in love with the university.
Representatives from various administrative departmetn offices attended meeting and responded to students' questions and suggestions.
