On December 5, Nanjing University held a meeting on student work on Pukou campus. The meeting aimed to further enhance the linkage of departmental work, build a support system for student development, effectively maintain campus safety and stability, and enhance the sense of belonging, happiness and sense of achievement of students on Pukou Campus. Chen Yunsong, Vice Chair of the University CPC Council attended the meeting.
Chen said that Pukou campus is an integral part of NJU's "two city four campuses" structure, and the student work in the four campuses should strengthen the integration and co-ordination. He hoped that all schools could accurately anchor their student work responsibilities to ensure the implementation of the work; and that all units should capture the dynamics and needs of the students in a comprehensive and timely manner, to understand the students, respond to the needs, and facilitate their development. He emphasized that the role of postgraduate supervisors in nurturing students should be effectively brought into play, and importance should be attached to positive incentives and capacity enhancement. It is necessary to ensure that all departments have clear goals and act in unison, and work together on risk identification, prevention and resolution, so as to support the high-quality development of the university with solid safety and security.
Li Bin, Secretary of the Party Working Committee, hoped to further enhancement of synergies between the logistics and student work. He also responded questions from different schools and colleges and made relevant arrangements. Representatives from the Department of Student Work of the University CPC Council, schools and institutes on Pukou campus reported on their work, problems and reflections. Focusing on logistics, campus culture and cross-campus linkage, representatives from NJU administrative offices had thorough discussions and raised constructive comments and options.
