On December 5, Yu Jin, Vice President and Party Leadership Group Member of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) led a delegation to Nanjing University. Tan Tieniu, Chair of the university CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) meets the delegation at Xianlin campus and exchanged of views with Yu Jin on the prospect of co-operation between NJU and CNOOC.
Tan warmly welcomed CNOOC delegation and recalled the previous exchanges between the two sides. He emphasized that the advantages of NJU's coordinated multidisciplinary development are highly compatible with CNOOC's development goals, and that NJU needs the support and cooperation of leading enterprises like CNOOC in key areas such as scientific and technological innovation and cultivation of outstanding engineer talents. He expected the two sides to establish a closer partnership and deepen strategic cooperation in various aspects.
Yu Jin extended his gratitude to Tan and NJU. He said that CNOOC is in a critical period of promoting green and low-carbon transformation and development, and there is an urgent need to obtain strong support in scientific research and talent cultivation through cooperation with universities. He believed that the jointly established "National Engineering Laboratory for Water Treatment in Petrochemical Industry-NJU Subcenter" would play a positive role in promoting low-carbon development and environmental protection.
After the meeting, Han Yongqiang, Chairman and Party Secretary of CNOOC Tianjin Chemical Research and Design Institute Co., Ltd and Ren Hongqiang, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor at the School of Environment, jointly unveiled the plaque of the subcenter. Yu Jin and Zheng Hairong witnessed the ceremony.
Yu Jin and CNOOC delegation also visited National IC Industry-Education Integration Innovation Platform, Ministry of Education Key Laboratory of Coastal and Island Development, accompanied by Zheng Hairong, Vice President of Nanjing University and academician of CAS.
