From November 25 to November 30, Tan Tieniu, Chair of the university CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, led NJU Delegation to Vietnam, Singapore and Indonesia from November 25 to November 30. Tan held in-depth discussions on strengthening scientific and educational cooperation and cultural exchanges between Nanjing University and Southeast Asia. This is the first time that the university leadership leads a delegation to Vietnam and Indonesia.
Tan led the delegation to visit government agencies, universities and research institutes in the three countries, and exchanged with NJU alumni, renowned professors and young scholars, to promote cooperation with the three countries in scientific research, talent training and social services. NJU delegation also visited Distinguished Alumni Mochtar Riady, Founder and Chairman of the Lippo Group, to expand resources for NJU's internationalization. The delegation made official visits to He Wei, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Wang Lutong, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Indonesia, and Hou Yanqi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to ASEAN.
