NJU and Nanjing Municipal People's Government sign agreement to deepen cooperation in atomic manufacturing

On November 21, Nanjing University and the Nanjing Municipal People's Government signed a cooperation agreement on jointly building atomic extreme micromanufacturing experimental facilities. Han Liming, Secretary of the CPC Nanjing Municipal Committee, Chen Zhichang, Mayor of the Nanjing Municipal People's Government, Tan Tieniu, Chair of the University CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and Tan Zhemin, President of Nanjing University and Academician of the CAS, attended and witnessed the signing.

Atomic manufacturing technology can greatly enhance the capability and efficiency in creating new materials and substances. It is a frontier scientific field that is being actively developed domestically and internationally. As one of the earliest universities in China to engage in related research, NJU has been working with the local government to jointly build the Atom Manufacturing Institute in Pukou District since 2019,  aiming to accelerate the development of core technologies and actively promote the construction of major scientific and technological infrastructures for atomic extreme micromanufacturing.

Han Liming congratulated on the signing of the cooperation agreement. She said that the joint construction of the atomic extreme micromanufacturing experimental facilities is an important outcome of the deepening city-university cooperation. She hoped that NJU can work with the Nanjing Municipal People's Government to improve the integrated layout of scientific and technological innovation, promote the development of core technologies, and cultivate innovation platforms and entities, thereby jointly forstering new quality productive forces and  enhancing high-quality development.

Tan Tieniu pointed out that NJU has a solid research foundation in the field of atomic manufacturing, and the development of related technologies has always been strongly supported by Nanjing City and Pukou District. Today's signing ceremony marks a milestone in the city-university joint development of atomic manufacturing. Tan expressed that NJU will take this signing as an opportunity to continuously strengthen its coordination with government departments at all levels, deepen its cooperation with the local area, and promote the common development with other prestigious universities in Nanjing.
