After three consecutive days of art feast, the 20th anniversary celebration of the youth version of The Peony Pavilion came to an end on December 1 in Nanjing. Tan Tieniu, Chair of the University CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences congratulated on the success of the performance and expressed heartfelt gratitude for the entire cast of the youth edition of The Peony Pavilion and collaborating organizations.

Tan recalled the deep-rooted connection between the youth edition of The Peony Pavilion and Nanjing University. He stressed that as one of the birthplaces of the studies of traditional theatre in Chinese Universities, NJU will continue its century-old tradition in theatre research and education, contribute to the inheritance and development of Chinese culture, and promote cross-strait exchanges.

After the performance, the auditorium paid tribute to the entire cast with a long, thunderous applause. Pai thanked Nanjing University for the support of the performance, and welcomed everyone to jointly protect and promote our national treasure - Kunqu Opera.
