NJU and Westlake University enhance cooperation

 On October 29, Shi Yigong, President of Westlake University and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), led the university’s delegation to visit Nanjing University (NJU). Tan Zhemin, President of NJU and Academician of the CAS, met the delegation. The two universities signed a cooperation agreement.The event was presided over by Chen Yunsong, , Vice Chair of the University CPC Council.

Tan Zhemin, on behalf of Nanjing University, extended a warm welcome and sincere greetings to Shi Yigong and the delegation. He highlighted that since its establishment, Westlake University has focused on fundamental frontier scientific research, dedicated itself to breakthroughs in cutting-edge technology, and promoted interdisciplinary integration. NJU and Westlake University shared similar educational principles, laying a good foundation for the further cooperation between the two universities. He hoped the two universities would strengthen collaborations in talent development, joint research, and institutional reforms, making new contributions to advancing higher education reform in China.

Shi Yigong introduced the history and current development of Westlake University. Shi praised Nanjing University for its long and prestigious history. He hoped that the cooperation agreement would deepen its connections with NJU. He envisioned both universities working closely together, encouraging innovative approaches and achieving remarkable results in scientific cooperation, talent recruitment, and education reform.

Wang Zhenlin, Vice President of NJU, and Zhu Xiaoyun, Vice President of Westlake University, signed the cooperation agreement on behalf of each institution.
