On August 25, Tan Zhemin, President of Nanjing University and member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, visited the Gulou campus to warmly welcome the incoming Class of 2028 undergraduate students. He also met with faculty, staff, and volunteers and expressed appreciation for their efforts.

During his visit, President Tan engaged with the new students, encouraging them to embrace NJU's community and values. He emphasized that NJU's rich history and abundant resources provide students with unique opportunities for personal growth and the exploration of various career paths. He expressed his hope for students to have a joyful and rewarding experience at NJU. Students gathered around President Tan, inviting him for group photos and presenting him with self-designed cultural souvenirs.

The orientation program included support services and activities, such as campus tours, cultural introductions, and logistical assistance, helping the students and their families feel welcomed and well-prepared for their new academic journey.
