NJU faculty member Zhang Xiujuan awarded the 20th Chinese Young Women in Science Award

The 20th Chinese Young Women in Science award was unfold by China Association for Science and Technology on January 2, 2025. Zhang Xiujuan, Associate Professor at NJU School of Engineering and Applied Sciences was among the 10 awardees. Her research interests include topological physics and artificial microstructured topological materials, and has published more than 30 articles as the first author in international journals, including Nature, Nature Physic, Nature Communications and Physical Review Letters.

Established in 2004, the Chinese Young Women in Science Award is an extension in China of the L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science International Awards, which has increased in size from 5 to 20 over the past 20 years, and has become an important award for women in science and technology connecting to international recognition platforms. In 2014, the award was first launched to recognise the ‘Future Women Scientists Programme’, which is dedicated to identifying and nurturing women scientists at the doctoral or post-doctoral research stage with strong scientific research capabilities and potential for development.
