On November 15, President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the 2024 World Chinese Language Conference, in which he congratulated the Confucius Institute on the 20th anniversary of its establishment. In the afternoon, Vice-President Han Zheng attended the opening ceremony of the conference held in Beijing.
Ding Aijun, Assistant President of NJU, attended the council meeting of the Confucius Institute of Artois, where he met with Pasquale Mammone, President of the Université d'Artois, and Jin Siyan, Director of the Confucius Institute of Artois, along with their delegation. Both sides reviewed and approved the annual work report and financial budget and final account reports of the Confucius Institute. They reached a consensus on leveraging the Confucius Institute as a platform to enhance comprehensive exchange and cooperation between the two universities.
Representatives from the Office of Confucius Institutes and Institute for International Students also attended the opening ceremony.
At the 2024 World Chinese Language Conference, NJU was honored with multiple awards, including "the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) Model Test Center","Best Partner of HSK study in China" and "Global ChinesePlus Smart Education Gold Medal Courses". At the same time as the conference, during the HSK International Education Exchange Section, the NJU stand also garnered considerable attention from numerous partner institutions and international students.
Themed "Interconnection, Integration, Inheritance, Innovation", the 2024 World Chinese Language Conference is hosted by the Ministry of Education. The conference brought together over 2,000 participants, including government officials, school principals, experts, scholars, representatives of teachers and students, and diplomatic envoys from more than 160 countries and regions.
