Alumnus Returns to NJU as Sao Tome and Principe's Attorney-General

Federick Samba, attorney general of the Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe and alumnus of 2001 of Nanjing University, returned to his alma mater with his staff and met with Zou Yajun, vice president of the university, on September 15, 2017.

Accompany Zou were representatives of the School of Law and the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges.

The meeting

Zou extended welcome to Attorney-General Samba and briefed him on the university’s recent development, especially the development of Xianlin Campus.

According to him, the Chinese government has started the “Double First-Rate Plan,” a new round of higher education funding efforts, and Nanjing University will seize the opportunity to improve the quality of its education.

Zou expressed his appreciation to Samba for returning to his alma mater, and he hoped that Nanjing University can have more communication and exchange with colleges and universities in the Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe.

Samba recalled his life on Pukou and Gulou Campuses from 1997 to 2001 and expressed gratitude to the mentors at the School of Law.

He hoped to promote exchange with China's procuratorates and law circles, especially with Nanjing University, and to make contributions to the development of his alma mater.

After the meeting with Vice President Zou, Samba gave a lecture on “International Cooperation on Criminal Offence” to the faculty and students at the School of Law.
